眼鏡作製技能士の役割を新たに追加
一般社団法人日本メガネ協会（JSA）のメガネ関連団体協議委員会が、メガネの取扱説明書『メガネを安全にお使いいただくためのハンドブック』の改訂版を作成し、9月20日から会員向けに販売を開始した。
改訂版では、「眼鏡作製技能士の役割」という新コンテンツが追加された。
この新しい項目では、眼鏡関連法規の遵守、眼科専門医との連携、倫理的行動の徹底について紹介している。
また、眼鏡作製技能士及びJSAのホームページへのアクセスを容易にするためのQRコードも追記された。
ハンドブックは、B6判20ページのカラー刷り小冊子として提供。価格は1部25円（税別）で、100部単位での申込みが可能となっている。ただし、送料と梱包費は別途実費がかかる。
このハンドブックの歴史は1993年にさかのぼり、当時の日本眼鏡販売店連合会が制作を開始した。
複数のメーカーから配布されていた取扱説明書を一つにまとめ、顧客の理解を促進することを目的としている。
内容は、レンズメーカーやフレームメーカーの協力を得て、①メガネについて、②ケガ・事故を防ぐ、③メガネと永く付き合うために、の3部構成となっている。委員会は、内容の充実度を踏まえ、多くの会員店に積極的な利用を呼びかけている。
この改訂版の発売は、メガネ業界における消費者教育の重要性と、眼鏡作製技能士の役割の認知度向上を示すものと言える。また、QRコードの追加は、デジタル時代に対応した情報提供の取り組みとして注目される。
Japanese Optical Association Releases Updated Eyewear Handbook
New Edition Includes Section on Certified Opticians’ Roles
The Japan Optical Association (JSA) has announced the release of an updated version of their eyewear handbook, “A Guide for Safe Use of Eyewear,” which became available to members on September 20, 20241.
The revised handbook features a new section titled “The Role of Certified Opticians,” which highlights three key aspects of their responsibilities

Collaboration with ophthalmologists
Adherence to ethical practices
Additionally, the handbook now includes QR codes for easy access to the websites of certified opticians and the Japan Optical Association.
The handbook is presented as a compact, full-color booklet consisting of 20 pages in B6 size.It is priced at 25 yen per copy (excluding tax) and can be ordered in units of 1001. Shipping and packaging costs are charged separately based on the order quantity and destination.
This handbook has a long history, dating back to 1993 when it was first produced by the now-dissolved Japan Optical Retailers Association.
Its primary purpose was to consolidate multiple instruction manuals from various manufacturers into a single, comprehensive guide for customers.
